Hey everyone.
What do you think of the No-name party. I really like the slogan or thing to represent the no name party that Bobby created. Putting all the names they have been called around the school was a very good way to get noticed. It was all the students could talk about for a couple of days.It also kept all the students in suspence about who was putting up the posters. For the first part of the election they were thinking about the wrong kind of minority, (DuShawn) because really they are a minority themselves. My favourite part though is their slogan."Sticks and stones will break our bones but names will break our spirit."It some ways it is true. I also think that Bobby played a big role in letting them have the No-Name party. I think he was tired of getting called names and decided to speak up. (I know this because Ms. Wyman told him that she was surprised to hear Bobby speak up like that because he is normaly a quiet kid.) They have a good chance of winning. Everyone has been going up to them and saying "I'm going to vote for you." If they do win, I think it would put a stop to lots of the name calling.
Any thoughts about this?

Hey Sarah I think the same about how sticks and stones will break our bones but names will break our spirits I like this quote too because it really shows what the misfits feel every time they are called a name and that is a good slogan for the no name party. And one last thing I think is that Bobby is now my favourite misfit in the book before it was Joe because I found him really creative but now it is Bobby because at the start of the book he was the quiet type but know after he said the speech he is more confadint in his self and I like it that he changed from scared what others think to free and open minded.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Emily, Joe used to be my favourite character because he was really creative but now I think it is Bobby because he stood up for what he believed in. Now ever since then he has built confidence so he isn't that quiet kid anymore, he says his o[inion. I think he is the character that has grown the most in the book. I also think it is funny how he says "I swear on a stack of pancakes."-Sarah W
