Hey!
I am still a bit confused about why the author decided to put a jean jacket on the cover of the book. I mean I get why they put the pins on the back, it show us what the main thing each of the main characters get called and maybe to do some thinking about which name belongs to each main character. I think the author might use a jean jacket because later on in the book all the misfits might decide to wear jean jackets to show that they have their own club or gang.
Any thoughts about the cover?

I think so too that all the misfits [ Joe, Addie, Bobby, and Skeezie] will wear jean jackets to make themselves stand out in the group and make themselves noticed. Do you think so to?
ReplyDeleteYah I agree with you guys I also think that it has to do with how they want to make the misfits unique and original not a second rate version of someone or something else. I might think this because maybe not many people at their school or in their town wore jean jackets so it was something that they would wear to represent the misfits and who they are. Thoughts, ideas?

ReplyDeleteYes, it would show that they are unique and they don't follow the crowd. They will do whatever they want and their friends accept them for that. Maybe unlike some of the other kids in the school who don't have friends who like them for who they are just for who they pretend to be. I think that jean jackets would be a good thing to represent the misfits because like Zoe said probably no one else in their school wears a Jean jacket and if they wear them it can show a statement like " it's ok to be different". It can show that they don't care about what everyone else thinks of them, they are unique and want to make a statement. Thoughts?-Sarah W
ReplyDeleteI think that it doesn't have anything to do with it. I don't know why but I think that if it did have to do with something they would have gave us a hint. like the first thing it says in"flipped" is when she first saw bryce loski she 'flipped' and you know why it is called that. The most I cold get was maybe skeezie? but really i truley don't know any thoughts?

ReplyDeletei think that to support their campaign, they might walk around with jean jackets with the pins on them to show tthat they were standing up to name calling. "I cannot believe it. the no name party is in buisness all on account of me" i think that bobby didnt really take the campaign seriously before but now he is goin to be dedicated. he wants to lift it up on his shoulders and shoot it up into the sky.( my bad metaphor) I think that they will organize this thing and that may result in more name calling or bullying, but in the end it will all work out.
